Introduction

It should be noted that Florida is a no-fault state, meaning that “whose fault is it” rarely comes into play in getting a divorce.  In Florida, it is enough that one person believes the marriage is irretrievably broken.  This upcoming series speaks to the top 10 reasons that have led to divorce but are not necessarily valid court arguments for getting the divorce.  Like all things, there is rarely “ONE THING” that makes something as significant of divorce happen. We tend to believe that the respondents to the survey that resulted in this top 10 reasons list are more likely thinking of “the straw the broke the camel’s back” and that there is likely a multitude of everyday things, and a few large events, that ultimately lead to a couple divorcing.

The top 10 divorce reasons we will cover over the next several weeks include:

·         Money

·         Infidelity

·         Constant arguing

·         Weight gain

·         Lack of communication

·         Unrealistic expectations

·         Lack of intimacy

·         Lack of equality

·         Not Being Prepared for Marriages

·         Abuse
